The format worked excellently and the girls acquitted themselves with aplomb in this nine a side fixture which went down to the last over with Team Hayley chasing a commanding total of 136.

Team Annabel batted first with Jethro pummelling a quick fire 33, supported ably by Annabel with 18 and Oliver with 12. In reply, Aakansh hit a blazing 28, with Georgie and Saee chipping in with 14 and 13 respectively.

The fact that girls compiled 3 of the top 5 scores and 2 of the top 3 wicket takers underscores their competitive spirit and ability.

It was a fantastic outing and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thanks to HJ for supplying the bbq afterwords. Definitely an event to undertake more regularly to more actively integrate the boys and girls sections of the club.
